ASEAN Creative Tourism (ACT) 2015 is one of the implementations of marketing strategy in tourism field that has been conducted by the ASEAN countries since 2012. This event is aimed to tighten the relationship amongst ASEAN people, particularly the youth as the ones who can push forward the integration of ASEAN community. In this event, the participants are expected to exchange their knowledge and cultures from their respective countries. The participants gain a lot of experience and recognize the importance of cultural heritage in their countries. The organizer of ASEAN Creative Tourism 2015 had arranged many activities towards the participants that can make them understand better about the culture. This year ACT was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 19th – 24th March 2015.
On the first day, the participants attended the opening and welcoming ceremony, where they were given an explanation of creative tourism and having a discussion related to the problems in tourism field. The participants also had to introduce and promote their countries during the welcoming ceremony. On the next day, the participants had a chance to explore tourism destinations in Bangkok wrapped up in the form of “mission” for the participants’ group in each tourism place. On the following day, the participants went to mangrove conservation to raise awareness of the global warming issue and took part in healing the world by planting the mangrove in Samut-Songkhram province. On the last day, the participants had a chance to experience a life as Thai people. They learned how to make Thailand cuisine, Thailand souvenirs and watched the performance of Thailand traditional dances and songs.
I am proud of being the part of this valuable event and introducing Indonesia to the other ASEAN countries. I learned a lot through this event and made a lot of new friends who came from the other ASEAN Countries with different cultural backgrounds. We, as the participants of ASEAN Creative Tourism 2015 will tighten the relationship amongst ASEAN countries. As the future leaders, we will see the future and create it in a different better way.
