This academic seminar on Cross Cultural Understanding (CCU) and Global Perspectives is one of the Professional Development Series conducted by English Education Department of Ganesha University of Education. The event was a collaboration among the Department, Students’ Association of EED and Regional English Language Office (RELO), U.S. Embassy, Jakarta. We invited one of the English Language Fellows, Meghan Merwin to share her perspectives and experience on CCU and Global Perspectives to EED. Enthusiastic participation was obviously seen from the event as they gave lots of comments and asked very interesting questions on the topic.
EED expects that this kind of event will provide more insights and a better perspective to the students and participants in general.
“This event is a success” said Karina, one of EED lecturers. She said that this is very much needed as she taught CCU this semester and multiple perspectives on differences in the world are important to know.
“I am happy to attend this seminar. It helps me to understand differences, especially American and Indonesian (Asian) cultures,” said one of the participants.
This event also invited representatives from D3 of English Department, Undiksha as the topic is of relevance. We do hope such collaborations will be sustained in the future. (Made Hery Santosa – Head of Department)
