Buleleng, Bali – The English Education Study Program from Universitas PGRI Silampari, South Sumatra, recently concluded a productive visit to the English Education Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) in Singaraja, Bali. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and enhance the pedagogical skills of the visiting students.
A highlight of the visit was a public lecture facilitated by Dr. Ni Wayan Surya Mahayanti, S.Pd., M.Pd. The session focused on “Teaching Storycraft for Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL),” providing Universitas PGRI Silampari students with valuable insights into effectively utilizing storytelling techniques for teaching English to children. The students gained a deeper understanding of how to incorporate storycraft to make language learning engaging and effective for young learners.
The delegation from Universitas PGRI Silampari was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. IGA Lokita Purnamika Utami, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the English Education Study Program at Undiksha. Prof. Utami expressed her enthusiasm for facilitating the current activities and explored avenues for future collaboration between the two universities, emphasizing the importance of inter-university partnerships in advancing educational quality.
Beyond the academic sessions, students and lecturers from Universitas PGRI Silampari also had the opportunity to visit Undiksha’s photography studio and art gallery. This provided a well-rounded experience, showcasing the university’s facilities and fostering a broader appreciation for the arts.
The visit marks a significant step towards strengthening ties between the two English Education Study Programs, promising potential for future academic exchanges, research collaborations, and shared learning experiences.
