Hello EED, another letter to the department. You surely do not want to miss Gung Riski’s stories of achievements, right? Highlights: Great Wall and Eiffel Tower.

My name is Ngurah Agung Riski Restuaji, but you can call me Gung Riski. I am an English Department student of Ganesha University of Education. I took this department as a major, as I believe English will be useful for my future career. I like playing ‘gamelan’, Balinese traditional music instrument and sometimes, I create new music compositions for festivals or art performances.
I was the chairman of English Education Student’s organization last year. I was also active in other organizations in the University, such as Students’ Senate and ‘BEM’.
Last year, I got one of the most prestigious awards as a University student, “Mahasiswa Berprestasi.” I was appointed as an ambassador of Indonesia in Youth Exchange program between Indonesia and China. This was after a tight selection. Recently, I was again awarded the same “Mahasiswa Berprestasi” award. Apparently, my participation to become one of the ambassadors of the University during its European visit has been highly considered. My friends and I performed Balinese art performances at La Rochelle University (France) and Windesheim University (The Netherland). This was intended for collaborative purposes among the Universities.
Going abroad is probably everyone’s dream. Skill is an added value if you can have one. Another important thing is, perspective (knowledge). However, to get it might not be simple. You need extra efforts and high discipline. You have to be persistent in facing any challenges on the way to reach it. I would not be able to experience seeing Korea, Malaysia, China, Paris and the Netherland without those. You have to stand tall. Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher, is right, “Great acts are made up of small deeds.” (Made Hery Santosa)
