The Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Programs of English Education at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) once again held their annual workshop with the theme “Wellbeing.” The event took place on October 9-10, 2024, at the Postgraduate Auditorium of Undiksha and was attended by students from all levels of the English Education Program, from undergraduate to doctoral.
This workshop was a result of a collaboration with speakers from Integrate Asia Pacific, an international organization that regularly partners with Undiksha. Each year, Integrate Asia Pacific sends prominent speakers to share insights on education and psychology. This year, the main focus was on “Wellbeing” with exceptional speakers from Australia: Sharon Haarsma, Jane Gorman, and Debra Sarre, a topic that has become increasingly relevant amidst the challenges of academic and personal life.
The head of the organizing committee, Kadek Sintya Dewi, in her opening remarks, stated that the workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of maintaining mental, physical, and emotional health throughout their studies. The event provided in-depth material on how to manage stress and maintain mental wellbeing in an academic environment. Additionally, interactive sessions were held to facilitate dialogue between the speakers and participants, allowing students to ask questions and explore wellbeing concepts, from the simplest to the more complex ones.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that English Education students at Undiksha, from undergraduate to doctoral levels, will be better equipped to face academic challenges with improved mental and emotional balance.
