Academic Seminar is one of event which is held by Students Association of English Language Education on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at Theatre Room of Faculty of Language and Art UNDIKSHA. The purpose of this Academic Seminar is to provide insight and knowledge about education such as writing, speaking, teaching, etc. This seminar is a place for English Language Education students to improve their English language skills.

Every year, the themes and concepts chosen vary. However that are must be about education and related with English. This year the concept chosen was “ Teaching “ and the theme was “ Practicing Effective English Teaching For An Engaging Lesson “. Because most language education students aspire to become a teacher, that is the reason for choosing the concepts and themes.

Academic Seminar was opened by the Third Vice Dean, Dr. I Gede Budasi, M.ed. Participants who took part in this activity were UNDIKSHA students from the English Language Education. This Seminar was attended by approximately 100 people, including the committee and lecturers of English Language Education. Seen from the participants who came, it could be said that the seminar was successfully.

One speaker invited by the committee, namely Dr. IGA Lokita Purnamika Utami S.Pd, M.Pd. At that time, She had just finished her Doctoral Degree and the material given by her was very fresh and interesting. She explained that the role of the teacher was very important. The teacher must be a good example in front of the students. She also gave a little fun workshop. The participants seemed enthusiastic to follow her.

There were two discussion sessions in Academic Seminars and the event continued with taking pictures together. Then the event was closed by Dr. Ni Komang Arie Swastini, S.Pd, M.Hum. However, before the event was closed, Students Association of English Language Education handed over awards in the form of placards and certificates to Dr. IGA Lokita Purnamika Utami, S.Pd, M.Pd and also gave a bouquet of flowers as an award because she had graduated from Doctoral Degree.
